With dynamism and passion, the Cantine Monfort in Lavis has focussed attention on protecting local grapevines since 1945. Visitors are offered a journey through wine, history, architecture and gardens.

The vines have their roots in the earth, their fruits flourish in a landscape rich in history, and their wines are protected in the depths of the cellars. The Cantine Monfort experience is a fascinating walk up and down steps and terraces. It begins by taking you down into the cellar, continues into the old town centre of Lavis, then brings you back to the light as you make your way up through the perfumes and colours of the Ciucioi Garden, a mixture of architecture, botanical garden, history, dreams and visions.

Along the way you’ll learn about wine, the region’s history, culture and landscape, and sample 3 glasses of wine, one of which will be raised as you stand on the lovers’ balcony in the Ciucioi Garden. An indulgence of the senses: taste, sight and smell.
